Wallowing in the Paint with the painter Pig

The Farmers Pig
5x7
oil
About This Painting: Painting along just having a blast wallowing in piles of new paint.

I had so many wonderful comments on my whimsical farm animals paintings while at ArtPrize, I thought I should add a few more to the farm animal menagerie. That is one of the wonderful things about being present during an opening exhibition is being able to interact with people who love art.

Pig Paintings

Delilah Smith

About This Painting: The Painter loves little piggies.
A friend of mine Marian Haily-Moss has a blog about many things but alway about the love for animals. She had a story about small pigs in dirty cages and I asked if I could use the picture she had on here blog to inspire a painting of little piglets. The above painting is what I did, of course no dirty little cages for my guys,

This little piggy was a saver

Delilah Smith

Rainy Day Saver

About this painting: It is always good to be a rainy day saver, you never know when those extra pennies will come in handy. These little pigs were good savers.
This weeks’ challenge  on DPW is very simple. Paint a pig. Any pig. You can use the reference photo provided, or you can paint your own. Your pig can be flesh and blood, ceramic, metal, fashioned from a potato, imaginary, etc. I got mine at a thrift store, but have since seen the same ones at Hobby Lobby. Oink oink (that’s pig for have fun!)!
